Graduating with a first class honours degree in ceramics from Camberwell College of Arts in 1992, Michael has had a diverse creative career spanning exhibiting of fine art and applied art works, curating, arts projects management, and most recently running the public programme at the Design Museum.
Drawing underpins all of his art practice. Obsessively collated sketchbooks demonstrate the nurture of ideas, sometimes spanning over 15 years as in his documentation of the Midland Grand Hotel (now St Pancras Renaissance).
Finished works include sequences of line drawn images, folios of photographs, ceramic sculpture, tableware, and editioned books.
Michael also heads Studio Tuck-Tite, a design agency specialising in ceramics and 3d design, named after the type of tobacco pouch once manufactured in the room occupied by his studio at Westland Place.
